The Studio of
Milan Sipistoo
The studio of Milan Sipistoo is nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, just steps away from Central Station and Dam Square. Surrounded by the city's international charm and vibrant energy, Milan chose this location as the ultimate epicenter for his artistic journey. A delightful detail: the building features sculpted owl ornaments on its facade—a fitting symbol for The Sipistoo. It’s safe to say, this is where the owl truly feels at home.
About
The
Studio
An exceptional space to shape the future of art.
The grey Art Nouveau building on Amsterdam’s Damrak, now home to Milan Sipistoo’s studio, was designed in 1903 by the renowned architect Hartkamp for the firm B. Sanders & Zoon, a currency and securities exchange office. In its heyday, Amsterdammers visited the building to cash cheques, trade securities, and monitor market fluctuations.
The Art Nouveau style, known for its inspiration from nature and lack of rigid symmetry, is beautifully showcased in the building’s facade. Animals feature prominently: alongside monkeys, you’ll find a rooster and an owl, symbolizing ‘day and night.’ The perfect setting for Milan to bring his creative vision to life and establish an artistic hub in the heart of the city.
